Summer is a great time
to focus on theatre!
YPTW offers summer camps for students at all experience levels. YPTW's summer day camp is designed for beginning and intermediate students who want to work on their theatre skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Offered weekday mornings during the month of July at the air-conditioned Players Club of Swarthmore, our day camp is filled with acting, improvs, singing, dancing and more.
Our Overnight Camp began when more and more students expressed a desire to immerse themselves in theatre 24/7. For 5 days we would live and breathe theatre. It was an "overnight" sensation for beginning, intermediate and advanced students! A decade later finds the camp as exhilarating as ever.
Read some quotes from our camp journal:
“This was my first year with YPTW, and I couldn't have asked for a more amazing adventure. Every person I have met along the way has been so genuine and supportive. I feel so blessed to have shared this experience with all of you.”
Nicole, Grade 10
“Every year I look forward to those five days of theater, shared with people who have the same passion for performing as I do. The only negative thing about camp is that it doesn't go on forever.”
Carla, Grade 9
“As I gathered my thoughts on my time at camp I couldn't help but to realize how much YPTW resembles a family. We have parents that teach us and guide us on our way to success. We have brothers and sisters who help us, talk to us, and most importantly love us. Everyone there is more than just a name, More than just another scene in our lives. They are a full production that makes the camp an experience in and of itself. This week, for some of us, set us free from the burdens of living in this time. This week was more than just theater.”
Dave, Grade 11
“YPTW overnight camp. It's one of those places you have to experience for yourself to truly understand the love and passion there is in our family of theater. And it's amazing to see how much talent comes out of everyone when they come here. It's like a safe haven, where everyone can go and just be themselves, act like themselves, and be accepted for who they are.”
Kristina, Grade 10
